Tango can slow down Parkinson’s disease

Alain Guillot and Cheryl William participate in a study to find out the effects of dancing tango on Parkinson’s diseases patients. This study was funded by McGill University and it took 18 months. During the study several groups of patients took tango classes.

Although the tango classes did not revers the effect of the Parkinson’s disease, it was found that it did slow down the progress of the disease.

The study concludes that physical activity will prolong to amount of time that the patient can remain active.

Among all the dances taught by Dance Conmigo, Tango seems to be the most  apropos for Parkinson’s patients.
